Authentication

Every request needs an API key. Keys are free.

1. Sign in at lobbyverse.com with Steam, Discord, Google, Twitch or an email. Your account needs a linked sign-in or a confirmed email, so there’s a real person behind every key.

2. Open your API keys, name the key after what will use it (“My Discord bot”) and choose Make key.

3. Copy the key. It starts with lv_ and is shown once.

4. Send it with every request:

You can have up to five keys. Each lists when it was made, when it was last used and its requests today and over 30 days.

Keep keys out of browsers and public code

Anyone with your key can use your limits. Call the API from a server or bot, not from a web page’s JavaScript, and never commit a key to a public repository. If one leaks, Revoke it on your API keys page: it stops working at once.

Without a key

A request with no key, or a key that’s wrong or revoked, gets 401:

GET /v1 and the OpenAPI spec don’t need a key.
